Holotype male. Kenya, SW Mau Forest , 2400 m, Kipteget River 8–11 February 1988, coll. A. Wilson. Depository EDNMK.
Paratypes. 1 male, same data as holotype . 1 male, Kenya, Endabarra Camp , Mau Forest, January 1946. Depository EDNMK.
Description. Male. Abdomen. Brown-black. Last abdominal tergite at posterior margin with horizontally down-bent processes, forming between them a triangular space ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 K). Cerci with blunt outer process and slender inwardly curved longer processes; tips of inner processes twisted ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 L). Subgenital plate with posterior margin incised with faint median carina.
Female. Unknown.
Measurements male (mm) (N=3). Length of body 9.6–12.0, length of pronotum 3.2–4.8, length of anterior femur 2.5, length of posterior femur 9.3–9.8, visible part of elytra from above 0.9–1.5.
Diagnosis. A triangle shaped gap between the processes of the 10th tergite is also found in P. githunguri n. sp. However, P. githunguri n. sp. has inwardly rolled tips of the processes of the 10th abdominal tergite while the processes in P. mauensis n. sp. are straight.
Habitat and distribution. Kenya, Mau Escarpment. Montane forest, 2400 m.
