Pap[ilio] Eq[ues] Troj[anus] laomedon Cramer, 1775: 78 , 153, pl.50, figs A, B [original plate 29, figs B, B]. ‘Côte de Coromandel’ [= south-eastern India] (Baron Rengers).
Papilio Eques View in CoL Trojanus laomedon, Stoll, 1782b: 2 [No. 16].
Material examined. No potential Cramer specimens located.
Remarks. This could be one of the species sent to Rengers by Drury (see above). The BMNH has an annotated copy of the sale catalogue of Drury’s collection ( Donovan, 1805). This shows that a specimen of P. laomedon was sold to J. Francillon as part of a lot of five specimens. Although Cramer would not have seen this specimen, it could well have been from the same source as the type material. Some Francillon material exists at the Oxford University Museum.
Current status. Junior subjective synonym of Papilio (Menelaides) memnon Linnaeus, 1758 ( Tsukada & Nishiyama, 1980).

Pap[ilio] Eq[ues] Achiv[us] lycidas Cramer, 1777: 25 , 149, pl.113, fig. A [original plate 80, fig. A]. + Surinam.
Papilio Eques View in CoL Trojanus lycidas, Stoll, 1782b: 2 [No. 25].
Material examined. Syntype ♀, with Felder label ‘ Surinam Coll Lenep’ ( BMNH (E)#665110) is a fair match for the stylized original plate 80, fig. A (the description mentions that the green colours are iridescent), although there is an extra pale spot on each of the hind-wings; it has been re-pinned .
Current status. Valid species in Battus ( Häuser et al., 2003) .
( FIG. 16 View Figures 15–20 )
Pap[ilio] Eq[ues] Troj[anus] lysander Cramer, 1775: 46 , 153, pl.29, figs C, D [original plate 19, figs C, C]. ‘It is very common in Surinam’.
Papilio Eques View in CoL Trojanus lysander, Stoll, 1782b: 2 [No. 39].
Material examined. Syntype ♂, with van Lennep label ‘No. 39. LYSANDER Cr. I. 29. C. D.’, Felder label ‘ Surinam Coll. Lenep’ and ‘Z’? ( BMNH (E)#665198); it lacks its abdomen, has been re-pinned and had a few repairs and touches of paint but is a good match for original plate 19, figs C, C . Syntype ♂, with Felder label ‘ Surinam Coll. Lenep’ ( BMNH (E) #665028; repinned, possibly with the original (pin). Possible syntypes: 3 ♂♂, with Felder labels ‘ Surinam Coll. Eyndh [oven]’ ( BMNH (E)#665026–8; these have been re-pinned). There is also 1 ♂, ‘ Surinam Mus. Leiden’ ( BMNH (E)#665029), but there is no other evidence to suggest that this has any type status. All are a fair match for original plate 19, figs C, C, though one of the van Eyndhoven males is slightly less good. All these specimens have minor repairs to the wings. There is also a possible syntype in RNHL .
Current status. Valid species in Parides ( Häuser et al., 2003) .
