Type material. MCZR–M–17857 —12 sh “ N. approximans Monts. In Boll. Sc. Nat. ed Econ. Palermo 1891 p. 4 estratto M. pell.”.

Type locality. Described from Monte Pellegrino † (Sicily).

Remarks. Recorded by MolluscaBase (2018) as taxon inquirendum. Suggested by Menesini & Ughi (1983) as a synonym of Nassarius ficaratiensis (Monterosato 1891) a position that we share [new synonymy].

Type locality. Described from Ficarazzi † (Sicily).

Remarks. Considered ( Landau et al., 2009) as a valid species. Recorded by MolluscaBase (2018) as Nassarius ficaratiensis (Monterosato 1891) .
