Geographic distribution: Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, People`s Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sudan, Eritrea and Ethiopia.
Distribution in Guinea –Bissau: 17, 18, 20, 24, 27, 28, 34, 36, 37B, 40, 42, 44.

Remarks: Another species that was described originally from Guinea-Bissau ( Guérin-Méneville 1849). Known mainly from the western and central territories of Africa, but reaching some north-eastern countries. The adults in Guinea-Bissau are active during the rainy season at mud flats and damp edges of bogs. It is usual to observe M. flavidens with C. lutaria , C. octoguttata , and M. melancholica .
