Signoret described this species and cited it as " Llaveia axinus Hernandez, Sallé, Rev. et Mag. Zool. , Guérin- Méneville, 1861", referring to the French translation of Llave (1832). We regard this name as either a lapsus, or an inadmissible name change for Coccus axin Llave, 1832 . We also believe that the article that Signoret referred to was by Guérin-Méneville (1861) and not by Auguste Sallé who sent the translation. Current status: Llaveia axin axin (Llave) (Family Monophebidae ).
