Remarks. The species is distributed throughout West Africa ( Antoine 1997b; Schoolmeesters 2019). Like other representatives of Valgini , which are flower visitors, the Cantanha adult specimen was captured on a yellow flower of an herbaceous plant (not identified). Biological and ecological data are not available for this species. The reference to Guinea-Bissau in the Catalog of Life for this species is an error (Schoolmeesters, personal communication). It is a new genus/species record for Guinea-Bissau.
