Micrargeria barteri Skan View in CoL (in Hemsley & Skan 1906: 458)
Lectotype (designated here):— NIGERIA. Nupe , s.d., Barter 755 ( K, barcode K000425539 [image!], available on http://specimens.kew. org/herbarium/K000425539, Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). Residual syntypes: NIGERIA. Nupe , s.d., Barter 1706 ( K, barcode K000425540 [image!] & P, barcode P00573193 [image!]).
Notes: In the protologue of the name M. barteri , the type citation was given as ‘Upper Guinea. Northern Nigeria: Nupe, in wet places, Barter, 755! 1706!’. According to Stafleu & Cowan (1985), the original materials of the names published by Sidney Alfred Skan are at K. In search, we traced three relevant specimens, two at K (barcodes K000425539 ! and K000425540 !) and one at P (barcode P00573193 !). It is clear from the label that the specimen at P reached from K. All the three specimens are matching to the protologue and are well maintained. The number ‘ Barter 755’ is represented by only one specimen, which is at K with barcode K000425539 . This is the only specimen with both flowers and fruits. Therefore, this specimen (barcode K000425539 ) is selected here as the lectotype of the name. The number ‘ Barter 1706’ represents the remaining specimens (barcodes K000425540 and P00573193 ).
