Type locality.
"Dans les eaux de l’ancien Léonthes” ( Mousson 1854: 51) [in the Litani river], Lebanon.
Remarks.
Replacement name for Melanopsis brevis Parreyss in Mousson, 1854, non Sowerby, 1826, for which already Blanckenhorn (1897) had introduced Melanopsis media as replacement name. Thus, Melanopsis moussoni is a junior objective synonym of Melanopsis media .
