Type. CHINA. Not located .

Remarks. Pic described a species 7−8 mm long with orange pronotum and black elytra having reddish markings on the humeral angle. He felt it could be distinguished from other similarly coloured species by the convex sided (Ballantyne’s words) elytra. It may be synonymous with Luciola dilatata .
