Note. This and the next species have the male genital capsule structure considerably different from the other species in the genus due to the reduced dorsal section of the valva having a massive claw-shaped apical spur, and the larger sacculus. However, the presence of the aforementioned apical spur along with the intervalval commissure fused with the heavily sclerotised juxta, as well as the phallus vesica structure confirm their belonging to Leucanithosia .
Diagnosis. The forewing length is 16.5–17.5 mm in males. The male genital capsule of the new species is clearly different from the other congeners in the short and broad dorsal part of the valva having a robust, claw-shaped apical spur, and the broad sacculus with a broad, hook-like curved distal process. Additionally, the uncus of L. inusitata is markedly broader than in the similar species. The phallus and the vesica structures of L. inusitata are most similar to L. lampunga and the detailed comparison is provided below in the diagnosis of the latter species.
The female is unknown.
Distribution. The new species is known from northern Sumatra Island ( Indonesia).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin ‘inusitatus’ meaning ‘unusual’ and refers to the peculiar configuration of the male genital capsule. The name is a noun in the nominative singular in apposition.
