SUBFAMILY LEIUPERINAE Bonaparte 1850 , 3
(1 genus, 1 species). The 1850 Bonaparte publication used the spelling Leiuperina, but a similarly titled paper ( Bonaparte 1852, 478) used the spelling Leinperina for a group of “Engystomidae.” Pyron & Wiens (2011) is followed herein in the subfamily classification for the Leptodactylidae and in using Leiuperinae (those authors do not give authors of the various names they use).
