(Figs. XIII-26, XIV-26, XVI-20)
Lemula crucifera Shimomura, 1979: 274 View in CoL , fig. 3. Type locality: Palin, Taoyuan.— Shimomura, 1994: 348.— Nakamura et al., 1992: 11.— Yu et al., 2002: 24–25, 78, pl. 3, fig. 14.— Chou, 2004: 78.— Chou, 2008: 78.— Hua et al., 2009: 10, 137, 274, Pl. 10, fig. 119.— Nakamura et al., 2014: 20
Diagnosis. Male: BL = 5.3–7.2 mm. Quite unique species in coloration and elytral maculae. Body shiny on dorsal surface; head and pronotum deep red; scutellum dark brownish red; elytra pale yellow with black markings as fol- lows: two transverse bands along basal margin and behind middle, and longitudinal stripe along suture and also along lateral margins; legs black except for reddish brown femora with black apical parts. Head and pronotum sparsely furnished with pale yellowish pubescence; elytra sparsely covered with outstanding long erect blackish setaceous hairs intermixed fine golden slanted hairs; abdomen sparsely covered with pale yellow pubescence.
Head moderately scattered with small punctures.
Pronotum with obtuse lateral tubercles, slightly longer than width across lateral tubercles (PL/PW = 1.04); disk convex above with slight median longitudinal depression, sparsely and finely punctured.
Elytra as long as twice elytral humeri (EL/EW = 1.99).
Endophallus (Type B). Dorsal view: CT weakly swollen laterally, ds lain-parenthesis shape embraced by distinct lateral ridges associated distal dm; PB moderately swollen; APH drop shape. Lateral view: CT and PB moderately inflated dorsoventrally; APH oval.
Female: BL = 6.3–7.6 mm. Similar with male, but antennae not reaching middle of elytra, pronotum longer than width across lateral tubercles (PL/PW = 1.09), and elytra sorter than twice humeral width (EL/EW = 1.94).
