Shrubs 1‒1.2 m high, branches tetragonal, without prickles, sparsely strigose, glandular sessile trichomes present. Leaves opposite, petiole 3‒5 mm long; blade 4.3‒9.5 × 2‒4.3 cm, chartaceous, elliptical, apex acute, base cuneate, margin entire near the base, crenate toward the apex, ciliate, adaxial surface opaque, strigose, slightly bullate, abaxial surface strigose along with the veins or tomentose along the entire blade, glandular sessile trichomes present. Inflorescences 1‒1.5 cm long, rachis elongated up to 6.5 cm long in fructification, 1‒2 per axil, peduncle 3.7‒8.5 cm long, sparsely strigose, glandular sessile trichomes present; bracts unequal, external 0.9‒1 cm long, internal 7‒8 mm long, wide-ovate to ovate, abaxial surface sparsely strigose, glandular sessile trichomes present, margin ciliate; calyx 1.7‒2 mm long, truncate, sparsely strigose externally, glandular sessile trichomes present, accrescent in fruit; corolla 0.8‒1 cm long, white, throat yellow. Fruit ca. 3 mm long, external surface rugose, vinaceous to black, surrounded by the persistent calyx.
Distribution and habitat:— Lantana undulata is endemic to Brazil, distributed from Paraíba to Santa Catarina ( Silva & Lima 2012, Silva et al. 2020). In Espírito Santo, it occurs in restinga and dense rainforest, and often found in disturbed areas. Not collected in SPAs in this state.
Phenology:— Collected with flowers and fruits in January, April, May, June, July, and August.
Preliminary conservation assessment: —This is a common species with a wide distribution ( Silva & Lima 2012), and occurs inside PAs in Brazil. Considered “Least Concern” (LC) ( IUCN 2019).

Notes:— Lantana undulata is characterized by the branches without prickles; elliptical leaves; rachis elongated up to 6.5 cm long in fructification; bracts sparsely strigose in the abaxial surface; truncated calyx, and white corolla.
