Holotype: female, Nanjing County (24°38ʹN, 117°11ʹE), Fujian Province, China, emerged 13.VI. 2012 in laboratory. Type deposited in Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering, Zhangzhou City University.
Etymology. The species name pseudovictor means false victor , because the new species is very similar to Idionyx victor Hämäläinen, 1991 .
A median-sized Idionyx species with bluish-green head, metallic green synthorax, and blackish-brown abdomen.
Head: Labium brownish-yellow. Labrum yellow. Anteclypeus black, with median yellowish spot; postclypeus black, more or less shiny. Frons bluish-green, its front surface roundly inflated, cleft vertically at the middle. Ocellar tubercle bluish-green, roundly inflated. Occiput triangular, black, covered with long hairs. Thorax: Prothorax largely pale yellowish-brown dorsally. Synthorax metallic green, marked with yellow stripes as shown in Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 6 . Distal half of ventral synthorax yellow, marked with paired curved black stripes on metathoracic epimeron. Colour pattern of distal half of ventral synthorax as shown in Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 6 . Legs yellowishbrown, with dark brown markings on femora and basal tibiae. Wing hyaline, its base broadly tinted with goldenamber beyond level of triangle. Pterostigma greyish-brown, braced at its proximal side, covering 2 cells in forewing, 3.5 cells in hindwing. Nodal index: 6 – 14:14 – 5/7 – 9:8 – 8. Anal loop of 13 cells, arranged in two rows.
Abdomen: Blackish-brown. Ventral margin of each tergite narrowly yellowish edged, more broadly on S1–3. Middorsal yellow stripes present on S1 – 2 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ). Terminal narrow yellowish ring present on S2 – 4. The abdominal colour pattern as shown in Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 6 . Valvula vulvae as shown in Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 6 .
