TYPE LOCALITY. — Brazil, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
TYPE SPECIMENS. — Described from 1 male and 1 female syntypes ( BMNH; one male specimen from Rio [de Janeiro] labeled SYNTYPE) .
REMARK
Dyar (1910b: 236), in the original description of I. agricus Dyar, 1910 , wrote “allied to Idalus admirabilis Cramer and I. agastus Dyar ( = pichesensis Hampson not Dyar)”. The species described by Hampson (1901) as I. pichesensis was in fact a new species. There is a male specimen labeled “ Idalus agasta Dyar Syntype det A. Watson 1972” from [ Brazil], Rio de Janeiro housed in BMNH.
