Holotype.
36104, "Klein-Popo, Togo" [ Anhéo (Anecho or Popovi), Lacs Prefecture, Maritime Region, Togo], coll. Julius Graf von Zech auf Neuhofen.

Hyperolius fusciventris Peters, 1876.
Remarks.
Depicted in Ahl (1931b: 379, fig. 254). In 1895, the German colonial officer Count von Zech went to Togo. Here he was assigned the management of the administrative station in Kete Krachi, a position which he held until 1900. He undertook several expeditions into the Togo Hinterland. In 1900 he was appointed District Administrator of the district Anecho in Klein Popo on the Togo coast. From 1905 to 1910 he was the governor of the German colony of Togo ( Schnee 1920b).
