DISTRIBUTION: Botswana, Burkina Faso, Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Namibia , Nigeria, Oman, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

NOTE:This species is also found in Australasia: Australia, Fiji, New Caledonia, New Hebrides; Oriental:Andamans, Bhutan, India, Indonesia (Java), Myanmar, New Guinea, Philippines, Taiwan; Palaearctic: Albania, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Syria .

LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: ‘Lusaka’, in Lusaka Province.

LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Host plants of the taxon include a yet to be identified cotton or Gossypium sp. (Malvaceae) .
