( Figs. 10 View FIGURES 1 – 11 , 57–61 View FIGURES 57 – 61 )
Diagnosis. Face pale yellow without spot. Antennal scape yellow, pedicel black, 1st flagellomere brownish yellow. Wing with a brown elliptical spot on dm-cu. Abdomen yellow, tergites 1–2 with entirely black; tergites 3–5 each with a blackish brown posterior band, and an indistinct triangular median spot confluent with the blackish brown posterior band; tergite 6 with a brown median spot.
Description. MALE. Body length 5.2–5.3 mm, wing length 4.2 mm.
Head pale yellow. Face pale yellow without spot. Frons about as long as wide and parallel–sided, with two narrow brownish gray stripes along or rows and a narrow brown triangular median stripe, extending to ocellar triangle; ocellar triangle blackish brown; oc strong, slightly shorter than anterior or, anterior or shorter than posterior or. Gena about 1/4 height of eye. Antennal scape yellow, pedicel black, 1st flagellomere brownish yellow, 1st flagellomere 2.5 times longer than high; arista long plumose, black except brownish base, with longest hairs longer than height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis yellow, with yellowish hairs and blackish hairs; palpus pale yellow with blackish hairs.
Thorax blackish brown with grayish white pollen. Mesoscutum with 0+3 dc (anterior dc clearly behind transverse scutal suture), acr in 8 somewhat irregular rows; prsc shorter than 1st post–sutural dc. anepisternum and katepisternum yellow with whitish gray pollen, anepisternum with a brown round median spot. Scutellum brownish black except yellow apical margin, with whitish gray pollen. Legs pale yellow except tarsomeres 3–5 brown; hind tibia with an incomplete brown basal ring. Fore femur with 4 strong pv and 6 pd, ctenidium with 12–13 short bristles; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 5 a and 1 apv; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 3 strong apv. Hind femur with 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 weak preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ) slightly yellow, with a narrow brown stripe on dm-cu; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 2.3 mm: 0.7 mm: 0.4 mm; r-m at middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1.6 mm: 1.8 mm; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/ 10 of penultimate. Halter pale yellow.
Abdomen yellow with grayish white pollen; tergites 1–2 with entirely black; tergites 3–5 each with a blackish brown posterior band, and an indistinct brown triangular median spot confluent with the blackish brown posterior band; tergite 6 with a brown median spot. Male genitalia ( Figs. 57–61 View FIGURES 57 – 61 ): protandrium circular; epandrium nearly trapeziform, slightly concave on dorsal margin, and with a row of apical hairs and a long bristle in lateral view, surstylus narrow incurved stick–like in lateral view; hypandrium with a pair of short bar–like ventral process, gonopod columniform, slightly curved; aedeagus with a pair of acuate lateral processes, a pair of incurved horn–like apical processes and a deep apical incision. Cerci with a pair of long hairs
FEMALE. Unknown.
Type material. Holotype 3 ( CAUC), CHINA, Hainan Province: Baisha, Yinggeling National Nature Reserve (1050 m), 28. VIII. 2005, Liusheng Chen. Paratypes: 1 3 ( CAUC), CHINA, Hainan Province: Ledong, Jianfengling National Nature Reserve, Mingfenggu (1000 m), 14. V. 2007, Kuiyan Zhang.
Distribution. China (Hainan).
Remarks. The new species is somewhat similar to Homoneura (Homoneura) nigritarsis sp. nov. from China (Hainan) in the following characters: face pale yellow without spot; wing with a brown spot on dm-cu; tergites 3–5 each with a triangular median spot confluent with a blackish brown posterior band and tergite 6 with a brown or blackish brown median spot; protandrium circular, epandrium with a row of apical hairs; surstylus narrow incurved stick–like in lateral view. But it can be separated from the latter by the antennal 1st flagellomere being brownish yellow; the hypandrium having a pair of short bar–like ventral processes; the gonopod being beyond the tip of aedeagus; the aedeagus having a pair of incurved horn–like apical processes and a deep apical incision. In H. (H.) nigritarsis , the antennal 1st flagelomere is pale brown with a pale yellow basal spot on ventral 1/2; the hypandrium has a small ventral process and the gonopod shorter than the tip of aedeagus; the aedeagus has a pair of subuliform processes curved outwards and a shallow apical incision.
Etymology. The species is named after the type locality Yinggeling National Natural Reserve.
