Diagnosis. Homaeotarsus sellatus is easily distinguished by the combination of obsolete hind angles of the head, head with moderately dense punctures, and sutural area of elytra with a crisply defined keyhole-shaped dark marking ( Fig. 3D View Fig ).
Distribution. Canada: ON, QC. United States: IL, IN, MA, ME, NE [new record], NH, NY [new record], WI [new record].
Comments. Homaeotarsus sellatus is broadly distributed in northeastern North America ( Newton 2019) and is here newly reported from New York, Wisconsin, and much farther west in Nebraska.
