Subgenus Sciacharoides Jałoszyński View in CoL , stat. n.

Sciacharoides Jałoszyński, 2014b View in CoL : 50. Type species: Horaeomorphus thomsoni Franz, 1975 (des. orig.).

Diagnosis. Pronotum with two pairs of distinct pits connected by a transverse groove (interrupted at middle and in some species barely discernible); hypostomal ridges nearly reaching posterior tentorial pits; hypomeral ridges complete; anterolateral portions of prosternum laterally distinctly overlapping hypomera; mesoventrite in front of mesocoxae with sharply demarcated median longitudinal carina, which has a distinct posterior tip; mesanepisterna lacking setal brushes.

Composition & distribution. Heterotetramelus (Sciacharoides) comprises three Australian species: H. thomsoni ( Franz, 1975) comb. n., H. eucalypti ( Franz, 1975) comb. n. and H. carteri ( Franz, 1975) comb. n.
