Heteroglenea dolosa Lin et Yang View in CoL sp. nov. ( Figs 35–41 View FIGURES 35 – 36 View FIGURES 37 – 41 )
Description. Male, length: 7.5 mm, humeral width: 1.9 mm. Female, length: 8.5–9.4 mm, humeral width: 2.2–2.4 mm. Body black. Head black, with yellowish green pubescence circling eyes and antennal insertions; antennae blackish brown. Prothorax pubescent except on 6 narrow vittae nearly reaching basal and apical margins: 2 on disc and 2 on each side. Scutellum pubescent. Elytra blackish brown, each with 5 dark olive green pubescent maculae: a sutural stripe from base to apex, a short longitudinal line on the centre of basal third, a median spot confluent with a sutural stripe, a stripe near margin from base to apex, and a transverse apical vitta confluent with the sutural stripe, not forming a right angle but with a small groove between them. Ventral surface densely clothed with dark olive green pubescence, with some black brown spots. Legs pale testaceous, with outer sides of femora, tibiae and tarsi black brown. Head slightly broader than prothorax. Eyes deeply concave, inferior eye lobe much higher than gena below, width slightly longer (male) or shorter (female) than ½ of frons. Antennomere ratio: male, 9 1.5 15 13 11 10 10 9.5 9 8 8; female, 9
2 14 13 11 11 11 10 9 9 9. Prothorax almost as broad as long or slightly longer than broad (male). Elytra parallel-sided, the sides serially punctuated, each with a humeral longitudinal ridge and an obtuse costa nearly reaching the apex, obliquely truncated apically, not spined. Hind femur reaching fourth (female) or fifth (male) abdominal segment, first frontal tarsal segment expanded (only male), much wider than second tarsal segment, first hind tarsal segment longer than (male) or nearly as long as (female) the following two segments combined. Male terminalia ( Figs 37–40 View FIGURES 37 – 41 ): Tegmen about 2.0 mm in length; lateral lobes moderately slender, each about 0.6 mm long and less than 0.2 mm wide, provided with finely haired ridge at ventral base, apex with setae much shorter than lateral lobes; basal piece bifurcated distally; median lobe plus median struts moderately curved, a little longer than tegmen (6:5); median struts about one half of whole median lobe in length; dorsal plate slightly shorter than ventral plate; apex of ventral plate pointed; median foramen not elongated; internal sac about twice of whole median lobe, with five pieces of basal armature and one rod; rod about 0.9 mm, much shorter than tegmen, only about half length of tegmen. Tergite VIII as broad as long, apex emarginated, with dense and long setae. Ventrite IX subequal to ringed part of tegmen in length. Female terminalia ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 37 – 41 ): Spermathecal capsule consisting of a distinctly expanded apical lobe and a stalk; stalk stout with a curve near base, slightly longer than apical lobe. Tignum much longer than abdomen.
Diagnosis. This species is similar to H. mediodiscoprolongata , but can be distinguished by: last antennomere not enlarged; elytra and antennae blackish brown, legs partly blackish brown; median pubescent spot on elytron is confluent with sutural stripe, not extended towards apex; elytra darker than that of H. mediodiscoprolongata .
Remarks. This species has the color of head, pronotum and elytra as dark as that of H. nigromaculata (Thomson) .
Etymology. Because this species is similar to H. mediodiscoprolongata . The latin word ‘dolosus’ means crafty.
