Habitat. Humid locations, rich in organic matter.

Zoogeographical distribution type. Atlanto-Mediterranean. Distribution in Croatia. One record from the Krk Island, the Mediterranean region (Szederjesi 2013).

Ecological category. Epigeic.

Habitat. Humid forests, meadows, river banks.

Zoogeographical distribution type. Illyric.

Distribution in Croatia. Szederjesi (2013): Ivanščica, Drenovac, Novo Zvečevo; Hackenberger: Turkovići. All records in the Continental region.

Remark. D. ganglbaueri belongs to the widely distributed polytypic D. byblica species complex. D. ganglbaueri , in synonymy with D. byblica since Pop (1949), was re-established as a species by Zicsi (1991). D. ganglbaueri has an Illyric distribution while D. byblica is a Circum-Mediterranean species.
