Remarks: With a total length of over 9 mm, Harrisoniella hopkinsi is among the largest of all known louse species; also, it parasitises large albatrosses ( Diomedea spp. ). Palma & Pilgrim (1984: 150, 157) identified the allotype female of Harrisoniella chilensis as H. hopkinsi , qualifying it as a contaminant from a large albatross—possibly Diomedea epomophora —onto Fulmarus glacialoides .
