Harrisia rebaptizata Rondani, 1859 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1859b: 92.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ Dovre [Dovre ( Norway)]” ( Zetterstedt 1838: 647) [type locality for Harrisia simplicitarsis ( Zetterstedt, 1838) ].
TYPE MATERIAL: see Remarks.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Lydina aenea ( Meigen, 1824) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 291, O’Hara et al. 2020: 766).
REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 92) considered Harrisia simplicitarsis ( Zetterstedt, 1838) and the females of Harrisia aenea ( Meigen, 1824) sensu Zetterstedt (1838: 647) as the same species but, instead of applying the Principle of Priority, incorrectly proposed the substitute name Harrisia rebaptizata . Rondani (1865c: 207) reaffirmed having proposed it to combine Harrisia simplicitarsis and Harrisia aenea . Schiner (1861b: 526, 1864: 88) and Bezzi & Stein (1907: 222) placed Harrisia rebaptizata in synonymy with Harrisia aenea ( Meigen, 1824) while Brauer & Bergenstamm (1889: 131) considered it as a valid species. The material for Harrisia rebaptizata will be the same as for the name it was proposed to replace, i. e., Harrisia simplicitarsis . The type material of this latter species is preserved in the MZLU ( Biologiska Museet, Lunds Universitet 2020). Under the name Harrisia rebaptizata there are two females (non-types) in the MZUF.
