Cainocreadium lariosi View in CoL (Caballero y Caballero, 1946) Cribb, 2005

Synonyms: Emmettrema lariosi Caballero y Caballero, 1946; Hamacreadium lariosi (Caballero y Caballero, 1946) Yamaguti, 1953.

Records. From an unidentified marine fish, common name “merro”, off Oaxaca, Pacific coast of Mexico by Caballero y Caballero (1946).

Remarks. Caballero y Caballero (1946) proposed Emmettrema Caballero y Caballero, 1946 for this species, described from a single specimen. Yamaguti (1953) synonymised Emmettrema with Hamacreadium , but Cribb (2005a) transferred E. lariosi to Cainocreadium on account of the median genital pore. The view of Cribb (2005b) is accepted here. The common name of the original host suggests a grouper species of Mycteroperca Gill (Serranidae) .
