Female body length = 1.602 mm (n = 1).

Colour. Head, mesosoma and metasoma black; clypeus and mandible red-brown; coxae and femur of all legs black, remainder of legs brown; radicle, A1 orange-brown; A2–A6 brown, remaining antennomeres brown with a tinge of black.

Head. 1.3× as wide as high, 1.3× as high as long. IOS: 0.6× head width, 1.2× eye length. POL: LOL: OOL: 30.1: 15.8: 2.0. OOL: 0.5× MOD. Compound eye: ovate (L: W = 27.6: 22.6). Sculpture of orbital furrow: foveate-rugose. Inner orbits in frontal view: almost parallel to each other. Central keel on frons: present, extending 0.4× the length of frontal depression. Malar sulcus: with rugose depressions. Shape of frontal depression: ovoid. L: W of frontal depression: 26.5: 21.9. Width of frontal depression: 0.7× IOS. Sculpture of frontal depression: transversely carinate, space between carinae medially smooth and laterally rugose; in ventral 2/3 polygonal cells with rugose sculpture present towards inner orbit. Submedian carina of frontal depression: restricted to dorsal 1/5. AOD in dorsal view: 5.5× OOL. Sculpture of frons sans frontal depression: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture, setose. Sculpture of vertex: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture, setose. Hyperoccipital carina: present. Sculpture of gena: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture.

Mesosoma. L: W of mesoscutum: 28.7: 48.2. Sculpture of mesoscutum: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture interspersed with uneven longitudinal carinae posteriorly, densely setose. Scutoscutellar sulcus: foveate. L: W of mesoscutellum: 19.4: 35.6. Sculpture of mesoscutellum: longitudinally carinate, with uneven cells between carinae, densely setose posterolaterally. Posterior mesoscutellar sulcus: concealed with dense setae. Sculpture of metascutellum: foveate. Posterior margin of metascutellum: protruding. Sculpture of metanotal trough: foveate. Lateral propodeal area: laterally wide and narrowing centrad. Sculpture of lateral propodeal area: with depressions. Posterior propodeal projection: short and not pointed. Pronotal cervical sulcus: with depressions. Sculpture of lateral pronotal area: dorsally coriaceous reticulate, remainder transversely carinate, with almost smooth area between carinae. Prespecular sulcus: with transverse foveae. Sculpture of speculum: transversely carinate interspersed with sparse setigerous foveae. Femoral depression: transversely carinate, with rugose sculpture between carinae. Episternal sulcus: foveate. Postacetabular sulcus: indicated as a furrow. Mesepimeral sulcus: not foveate. Sculpture of posterior mesepimeral area: not distinct. Mesopleural carina: indicated ventrally. Mesopleural pit: present. Metapleural sulcus: foveate. Sculpture of dorsal metapleural area: rugose-foveate, with sparse setae. Sculpture of ventral metapleural area: foveate, with very sparse setae. Paracoxal sulcus: large depressions with rugose sculpture. L: W of fore wing: 98.9: 44.9. Ratio of length of m: st: pm: 3.2: 8.3: 1.4. L: W of hind wing: 81.3: 20.6. Length of hind wing marginal cilia: 0.18× width of wing. Shape of submarginalis: dips basally and distally before reaching marginalis.

Metasoma. L: W of metasoma: 60.1: 53.3, 1.1× as long as wide. Anterior margin of T1: medially and laterally with weak projections. Basal foveae on T1: present. Sculpture of T1: longitudinally costate, space between costae rugose. Sculpture of T2: longitudinal costate with reticulations between costae; basal foveae absent. Length of T2: 6× length of T3. Sculpture of T3–T4: anteriorly smooth with sparse punctae, medially foveate, posteriorly smooth. Setation of metasoma: laterally and posteriorly densely setose.

Etymology

The Sanskrit word ‘samantara’ means parallel, referring to the parallel transverse carinae in the femoral depression. The name is treated as an adjective.

Diagnosis

This species is distinct in having an entirely transversely carinate femoral depression.
