Material examined

Holotype BRAZIL • ♂; “ Rio de Janeiro ”, “Collection \ CF Baker”, “USNMENT \ 01513809”; USNM 1513809 About USNM .

Other material

BRAZIL – Pernambuco (new record) • 1 ♂; Caruaru ; DZUP .

Remarks

This species was described based on a single male from Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil ( Fig. 22A–D View Fig ). We studied an additional male specimen from Pernambuco State ( Fig. 22E–F View Fig ) that leaves no doubt that this species should be transferred to Gypona because of its having the crown with oblique striations between the ocelli ( Fig. 25C View Fig ) and the genitalia and coloration similar to those of several species of Gypona .
