Gynodiastylis milleri Jones, 1963 View in CoL
Gynodiastylis milleri Jones, 1963: 71 View in CoL , 75–76, Figs. 343–350.— Gerken, 2001: 45, fig. 188.
Material examined. None.
Diagnosis. Female and subadult male. Carapace with few incomplete ridges on the anterior half. Eyelobe with 3 lenses. Pereopod 2 without fine hair-like setae. Pereopods 3–5 dactylus and terminal seta simple. Uropod endopod biarticulate, longer than exopod.
Adult male. Unknown.
Remarks. This species is the only Gynodiastylis or Axiogynodiastylis known from New Zealand waters with incomplete ridges on the anterior half of the carapace. Gynodiastylis carinata has lateral and dorsolateral ridges extending the entire length of the carapace. Gynodiastylis milleri has fewer and much shorter ridges on the carapace than G. carinata .
