Figs. 12I View FIGURE 12 , 16 View FIGURE 16 C–D, 17B
Material examined. Indonesia: Sumatra, Aceh, Süd-Adjeh, 1902, Dr. A. Fuchs— 1 female (Museum Wiesbaden) .
Description. Large species. Head: Face large, ovoid; forehead nearly smooth; fastigium verticis hardly wider than scapus; ocelli small, little distinct ( Fig. 12I View FIGURE 12 ). Abdominal tergites two and three each with 2 rows of stridulatory pegs.
Wings little surpassing hind knees. Tegmen: Radius with two branches, both forked near tip; media anterior fused in basal area with radius and afterwards stays single branched; media posterior absent; cubitus anterior forks between basal third and mid-length into two veins, CuA1 and CuA2; cubitus posterior undivided, free throughout; with 4 anal veins.
Legs: Fore coxa with a spine at fore margin; fore and mid femora unarmed; fore and mid tibiae with four pairs of large ventral spines and one pair of smaller ventral spurs; hind femur with 7–10 external and 10–13 internal spines on ventral margins; hind tibia with spaced spines on both dorsal margins, ventral margins with one preapical spine each; with 3 apical spurs on both sides.
Coloration. General color light brown (originally conserved in alcohol); disc of pronotum with a figure roughly described as consisting of 3 anteriorly deviating light ovals outlined by angular black margins; anterior and posterior margins narrow black. Vertex with a round black spot in middle and black bands on both sides. Legs light brown; genicular areas blackish; upper surface of fore and mid tibiae dark brown. Face uniformly light brown; fastigium verticis with a round black spot; antennal scrobae and base of scapus black. Tegmen yellowish transparent, veins little darker; hind wing transparent; cells outlined by black bands.
Female. Seventh abdominal sternite rather short, much wider than long, apical margin convex in middle but not covering base of subgenital plate. Subgenital plate rather long; wide at base, constricted about behind basal third, afterwards with convex lateral margins, apex bi-lobate; both sides in apical third with a circa circular shallow groove separated by a low elevation, in basal two thirds on both sides with an elongate swelling converging posteriorly and in basal third outlining a triangular groove; in center of plate with a narrow projection with bifid tip, clinging to subgenital plate; in lateral view there is a distinct step separating the basal from the apical half of the subgenital plate ( Figs. 16 View FIGURE 16 C–D). Ovipositor long, moderately curved, with faintly approaching margins; dorsal margin with a slight expansion before tip ( Fig. 17B View FIGURE 17 ).
Measurements (1 female).—body w/wings: 48; body w/o wings: 33; pronotum: 8.7; tegmen: 36; hind femur: 23; tegmen ovipositor: 25 mm.
