Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 1 Jan. 2010, and at St. KVG 14 in Kavieng District by Serge Andréfouët on 16 Aug. 2014 .

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Maldives east to Philippines and Solomon Islands. Found on sand bottoms, 15–48 m depth. Marine.
