Material studied. Holotype: “Toovii, Nuku / Hiva 2500 ft / VIII. 4. 1931 // Marquesas Is. / Le Bronnec / & H. Taursa / Collectors // Beating on / Metrosideros / collina // Pacific Entomo- / logical Survey // Holotype / robustus” (#m, BPBM) . Paratype: “Toovii, Nuku / Hiva 2500 ft / VIII. 4. 1931 // Marquesas Is. / Le Bronnec / & H. Taursa / Collectors // Beating on / Metrosideros / collina // Pacific Entomo- / logical Survey // Holotype / robustus // Germalus / robustus / 729 V. D.” (#f, BPBM) .

Diagnosis. Similar to G. lateralis in general colouration, but ground colour paler with irregular, slightly reddish decorations dorsally and reddish-blackish lateral band. Pronotum with an impunctate median ridge and conspicuous impunctate spots posterior to callosities. MTSEA with peritremal surface moderately oblong and curved; ostiole triangular with vestibular scar developed, reaching thoracic venter.

Distribution. Known as endemic to Marquesas Islands.
