( Figs. 1–6 View FIGURES 1–12 ).

Eggs were deposited on the bottom of the plastic container or at the

bases of the plant branches; they were laid singly or in pairs and, if paired, attached to each other at a right angle ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–12 ).

Description. Egg cylindrical with rounded ends, slightly narrower at anterior pole, white; chorion shiny and translucent ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–12 ). Chorion surface, either with SM or SEM, generally smooth but often with faint longitudinal carinae ( Figs. 1–3 View FIGURES 1–12 ). Under SEM, center of anterior pole granulated ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–12 ), sometimes mostly smooth ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1–12 ). Length: 0.8 ± 0.01; width: 0.5 ± 0.02 (0.5–0.6) (n = 7). Micropylar processes (MP) circularly arranged around anterior pole ( Figs. 4, 5 View FIGURES 1–12 ); mean number of MP 3 ± 0.6 (2–4). Each MP translucent, short, stalked, slightly capitate; apical opening circular; under higher magnification, surface not spongy ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1–12 ).
