Glabrous and often glaucous perennial with often pendent stems up to 20 cm. Leaves up to 25 x 4 mm, narrowly elliptical to spathulate, obscurely veined, sometimes slightly fleshy. Flowers 4- or 5-merous, in 1- to 5-flowered cymes; pedicels 2-6 cm, slender. Sepals 2-3 mm, ovate-lanceolate, concave, with narrow scarious margins; petals twice as long as sepals. Strophiole prominent, finely laciniate. Rock-fissures. • Maritime Alps; S. & C. Appennini. G a It.

Plants from the Maritime Alps have 5-merous flowers; those from the Appennini have 4-merous flowers.
