Description. Male. ForewIng length: 20–21.5 mm.
The ground colour of the uppersIde Is dIrty yellow wIth heavIly marked orange spots and black cross-lInes. The undersIde of the forewIngs Is orange wIth pale spots and faInt black lInes and black spots In post-dIscal area. The undersIde of the hInd wIngs Is brIghter wIth creamy and orange bands. The orange post-dIscal band contaIns a row of black spots same as In uppersIde, and the margIn Is yellow.
Female. Unknown.
Diagnosis. The new subspecIes can be dIstInguIshed from all other subspecIes by Its larger sIze and the serIes of four black spots In post-dIscal area of undersIde of the forewIngs ( FIg. 22 View FIGURES 13 – 22 ).
Etymology. Named after the SIchuan ProvInce where the new subspecIes occurs.
Distribution. ChIna: SIchuan, mountaIns In upper reaches of Yalong RIver.
