Stem with O-3(-6) pairs of usually erect branches. Cauline internodes l j -5 times as long as leaves. Lowest flower at node (3-)4-9. Leaves usually with glandular hairs, the cauline 2-12(-16)mm, elliptical to broadly ovate, with obtuse to acuminate teeth, the lower floral 5-11 (-14) mm, usually broadly ovate to trullate, broadly cuneate at base, with 3-6 pairs of subacute to aristate teeth about as long as wide or longer. Corolla 6-5-8-5(~9-5) mm. Capsule 4-5-7(-8) mm, not exceeding calyx, 2-3 times as long as wide, elliptical to oblong. Carpathians, south-eastwards to c. 48° N.
