Phallotheca produced into short, pointed, posteroventral lip; endotheca membranous, with sclerite broad basally and acute apically.

Diagnosis. The male of this species resembles that of E. avalokhita Schmid, 1962 , but can be differentiated from latter by having segment IX with its posteroventral edge lobe rounded (blade-like in E. avalokhita ); segment X posterolateral processes well developed (reduced in E. avalokhita ); preanal appendages each finger-shaped (slender in E. avalokhita ); and endotheca with broad sclerites (more slender sclerites in E. avalokhita ).

Etymology. This species is named in honor of F. Schmid for his great contributions to the taxonomy of Indian Trichoptera .
