Distribution. Nearctic, Neotropical; Chile: Región Metropolitana ( Townes 1983); Región del Biobío ( Townes 1983); Región de La Araucanía ( Townes 1983).

Comments. The species is present in Chile with the subspecies Ethelurgus syrphicola rufipes ( Brèthes, 1909) ( Townes 1983) .
