Estheria alticola Mesnil, 1967: 55 View in CoL . Type locality: Hissar Mts nr Dushanbe (Tajikstan). Holotype ♂ and two female paratypes (ZIN) not examined. References: Herting (1984: 142; Palearctic catalog); Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 363; Palearctic catalog).
Diagnosis. From the original description. Frons of male less than 1/10 of head width; prementum 6 times as long as wide; three strongest postpronotal setae nearly arranged in a triangle; 3 presutural and 3 postsutural dorsocentral setae; lower calypter with short hairs; mid tibia with 1 anterodorsal seta.
Distribution. Tajikstan.
Remarks. This species appears to be similar to E. cristata (Meigen) , but differs from the latter by arista long plumose, three strongest postpronotal setae nearly arranged in a triangle, and mid tibia only with 1 anterodorsal seta.
