Diagnosis. This species is similar to E. carycodes , but E. pululahuana can be distinguished by the large, straight, terminal processes of the gnathos arms; the longer, slenderer aedeagus; and the long, broad sacculus with an upturned distal process.
Description. Wing span ca. 18.5 mm. Head greyish brown; labial palpus blackish brown, ca. 4.5 times horizontal diameter of compound eye. Thorax greyish brown. Forewing as in termasiana but ground colour limited to postmedian dirty ferruginous area, more reticulated with brownish cream, with brown area extending from tornus; remainder blackish brown. Cilia brownish. Hindwing cream, tinged with brownish on periphery. Cilia concolorous with wing.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 17 View FIGURES 15 – 17 a, 17b). Uncus slender except for terminal club-shaped portion; terminal processes of gnathos arms large, straight, extending obliquely, densely spiny; basal half of sacculus broad, ventral edge of distal half nearly straight; terminal part upturned, densely spined; aedeagus long, slender, curved in basal third; coecum penis fairly long; cornuti in form of numerous elongate slender spines. Female unknown.
Holotype male: “ Ecuador, Prov. Pichincha, Pululahua, West Cordillera, 3.02.2005, 3100 m, leg. J. Wojtusiak”, GS 493 (MZUJ).
