Remarks: Eremiaphila genei can be recognized by the large black spot on the distal part of the brown hind wings. It is widely dispersed in Ethiopian and Palearctic regions. This species was incorrectly recorded from Amman ( Jordan) by Uvarov (1923) who later (1933) found that it belonged to E. ammonita . This species appears usually from March to November. It was found on the sand or on small gray gravel. Adults were seen standing in the shade of small stones on hot days. Individuals of E. genei are active and fast runners that prey on small ants.
