Specimens examined. 1♀, Asir, Abha, Madenate Al-Ameer Sultan , 25.ii.-25.v.2002, Malaise trap, H.A. Dawah ( NMWC) ; 1♂, Jazan, Abu Aresh, Al-Mahdag Village , 4.iii.2013, Malaise trap, H.A. Dawah ( CERS) .
Distribution. This species was previously recorded from Saudi Arabia by Dawah & Abdullah (2006) and Deeming & Al-Dhafer (2012). It was described from Palestine and is further recorded from Botswana, Cape Verde Islands, Ivory Coast, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sudan and Morocco ( Sabrosky 1980). Some specimens in the NMWC were collected in Yemen and Oman.
Biology. This species was reared from decaying lettuce, millets heads, and sorghum stems in Nigeria.
