Entoloma pheocarpum Caball., Vila, A. Caball. & Català, Revta Catal. Micol. 35: 90 (2014) ( Figs. 6–8 View FIGURE 6 View FIGURE 7 View FIGURE 8 )

Description: Basidiomata very small-sized. Pileus 1.1–2 cm diameter, convex to plano-convex, depressed at the center, dull-reddish brown (2.5YR5/4) becomes light gray (5Y8/1) with age, reddish black (10R1.7/1) at the center, umbo absent, context thick, surface pruinose, radially fibrillose, dry and dull, margins smooth, sometimes raptured at maturity. Lamellae pale yellow (2.5YR8/3), turning pink on maturity, distant, decurrent, forked, narrow, edges smooth or rarely eroded, margins entire, lamellulae in 1–3 tiers of different lengths, concolorous to lamellae. Stipe 1.4–2.7 × 0.2–0.4 cm, grayish to dull brown (7.5YR6/3), centrally attached, unequal, tapering towards pileus, cylindrical, rarely compressed, surface smooth, rarely pruinose, dry and dull, rarely bulbous base, solid, context thick. Annulus absent.

Basidiospores [50/2/2], (6.4–) 6.42–7.6 (–8.5) × (5.5–) 5.6–6.9 (–7.4) µm, avl × avw = 7.2 × 6.2 µm, Q = 1–1.3, Qav = 1.2, globose, isodiametric, angular with 5–7 angles, not prominent, apiculate, without germ pore, smooth, thick-walled, hyaline in 5% KOH, no reaction in Melzer’s reagent, mono-guttulate that is present in center. Basidia (22.2–)23.3–30.2(–31.5) × (6.3–)10(–11.8) µm, avl × avw = 27.3 × 10.6 μm, clavate to broadly clavate, frequently bisporic, thick-walled, olivaceous droplets are absent, congophilous. Cheilocystidia (17.9–)18.1–25.7 (–28.9) × (6.3–) 6.7–11.4(–12) µm, avl × avw = 22.4 × 9 μm, narrowly clavate to clavate, sometimes sphearopedunculate, rarely cylindrical, thin-walled, olivaceous droplets present, congophilous. Pleurocystidia absent. Pileipellis cutis is made up of thin-walled hyphae, 2.3–5.2 μm in diameter, avw = 3.6 μm, rarely septate, terminal ends equal, mixed pigments present. Pileocystidia absent. Stipitipellis a cutis made up of long hyphae, 2.2–4.4 μm diameter, avw = 3.4 μm, thin-walled, rarely septate, constricted at septa, parallel arrangement, rarely branched, equal terminal ends. Caulocystidia absent. Clamp connections absent in all tissues.

Habitat:—Saprotrophic, mostly solitary or in pairs, on sandy soil under Calotropis procera

Known geographical distribution:—So far, Entoloma phaeocarpum has been reported only from the type locality Spain ( Vila et al. 2014) and now from Pakistan in this study.

Material examined:— PAKISTAN, Punjab province, Village 165/ M Hasilpur, Bahawalpur district, 205 m a.s.l., 02 September 2020, Muhammad. Asif , AG-93 ( LAH37952 About LAH ) ; GenBank accession ; ITS: OR673978; 02 September 2020, M. Asif, AG-95 ( GenBank accession; ITS: OR673979 ) .
