Einfeldia pagana: Sasa & Suzuki 2001b: 68 View in CoL , misidentification.
Type material: Holotype: ♂ ( NSMT 412 View Materials :15), Japan, Ryukyus, Okinawa Pref., Minamidaito Isl. , 27. iii. 2001, H. Suzuki ; Paratype: ♂ ( NSMS 412 :53), as holotype except for date: 28. iii. 2001 .
Etymology. The species is named in honour of Dr. Manabu Sasa who reported the material from Minamidaito Island, Japan.
Description. Following features are emended: head including mouth parts brown; legs predominately pale brown, darkened on tarsi: abdomen pale brown, abdominal tergite 1 with median brown marking on its posterior margin; hypopygium brown; tarsomeres 2–4 of mid leg each with a distinct pseudospur on its apical portion, tarsomere 1 of mid leg with 23 pseudospurs along antero-dorsal margin, tarsomeres 1–4 of hind leg each with 2 pseudospurs on its apical portion, tarsomere 1 of mid and hind legs with several sensilla chaetica. Notes. The species can be separated from Einfeldia pagana by the following characters: distributional pattern of temporal setae on vertex, mid tarsomere 1 bearing many pseudospurs, lunate gonostylus with distal 1/4 constricted, long and slender inferior volsella, and sickle-shaped superior volsella.
