Type-species: Earomyia lonchaeoides Zetterstedt, 1848 : Diptera Scandinaviae disposita et descripta, 7: 2690, by subsequent monotypy. (First species placed in Earomyia by Zetterstedt 1848: 2689).

Spermalolonchaea Hendel, 1932: 116 (as subgenus of Lonchaea Fallén, 1820 ). Type-species: Lonchaea viridana Meigen, 1826: 306 , by original designation. Synonymy by Collin 1953: 183.

Dasylonchaea Enderlein, 1936b: 152 , Unavailable name [a genus-group name proposed after 1930 without designation of a type species from two included species]. Type-species: Lonchaea crystallophila Becker, 1895 , by subsequent designation by Morge 1959c: 936 is invalid. Synonymy by Collin 1953: 183.
