Distribution ( Figure 2 View FIGURE 2 ). The species is previously known from Venezuela and from Santa Catarina, Espírito Santo and Sergipe States in Brazil ( Pinho et al. 2009). New records from Santa Catarina and Amazonas States are provided.
Remarks. Pinho et al. (2009) stated that “One male from Urubici, Santa Catarina State, is slightly larger than the other specimens with a wing length of 1.3 mm compared to 0.8–1.1 mm ” and “more material is necessary to decide if this specimen falls within the variation of D. plaumanni or if it represents a separate species”. Four additional males from Urubici have been collected later and their wing length range from 1.2 to 1.3 mm, so the specimens are considered to belong to D. plaumanni . The wing length of the specimen from Amazonas is 0.7 mm. Thus, the wing length of the species should be emended as 0.7–1.3 mm.
