(8) Diaphanosoma volzi Stingelin, 1905
Indian records. Andaman & Nicobar Islands — Venkataraman (2000a); Assam —Sharma B.K. & Sharma S. (2008b); Kerala — Korovchinsky (1995); South India — Korovchinsky (1995); West Bengal — Korovchinsky (1995), Venkataraman & Das (2001); General record— Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003).
Remarks. Relatively rare valid species described from Thailand ( Stingelin 1905). Its presence on the Andaman Islands ( Venkataraman 2000a) needs to be checked, due to the inadequate description of this record.
Distribution. Tropics and subtropics of the eastern hemisphere ( Korovchinsky 2004).
Type locality. “ Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh ”, India ( Rane 1985d) .
Indian records. Madhya Pradesh — Rane (1985d); General record— Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003).
Remarks. Doubtful taxon. This is a member of the widespread Latonopsis australis species group, not a species of Latona (Sharma B.K. & Sharma S. 1990; Korovchinsky 2004).
