Pieza sinclairi Evenhuis, 2002a: 22 View in CoL . Evenhuis 2002b: 56 [catalogue]; Causton et al. 2006: 134 [introduced species].
Mythenteles View in CoL species: Evenhuis 1990: 57 [distribution]; McMullen 1993: 98 [biology]; McMullen & Naranjo 1994: 27 [biology]; Peck 1996: 122 [mode of introduction]; Peck et al. 1998: 228 [introduced species].
Distribution. Introduced. Neotropical; Galápagos: Española, Floreana, Isabela, Marchena (ICCDRS), Pinta (ICCDRS), Rábida (ICCDRS) , San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz, Santa Fé.
Remarks. Evenhuis (1990, 2002a) believed that this species was introduced to the islands since there are no records prior to the 1980s, massive numbers in pan traps of recent collectors, records are primarily from inhabited islands and the genus is not known for its dispersal ability. The occurrence of this species on many uninhabited islands, including islands not visited by tourist boats, suggest that it can naturally disperse between islands.
Adults of this species were collected from flowers of Scalesia on Pinta ( McMullen 1993; McMullen & Naranjo 1994).
