Indian records. Assam — Kalita et al. (2011); Jammu & Kashmir— Brehm (1936), Brehm & Woltereck (1939), Das et al. (1969), Akthar (1972), Dar et al. (2002), Siraj et al. (2007), Rashid & Pandit (2008), Sharma K.K. & Chandrakiran (2011), Ahangar et al. (2012a); Karnataka — Brehm (1953); Punjab — Battish (1983);
Rajasthan — Tripathi et al. (2008), Sharma V. et al. (2012); Tamil Nadu — Mohideen et al. (2008); General record— Fernando & Kanduru (1984), Sharma B.K. & Michael (1987), Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003).
Remarks. Valid species described from South Germany ( Straus 1819 –1820; Benzie 2005). Non-Palaearctic populations need to be revised—in the Palaearctic, D. magna forms a relatively recent genetic group with wide distribution ( De Gelas & De Meester 2005), but the status of Oriental populations has never been taken into consideration (genetically or morphologically).
Shaleesha & Stanley (2001) studied the biology of (presumably) this species.
Distribution. “Holarctic and Africa” ( Benzie 2005), India (Sharma B.K. & Michael 1987).
Type locality. " India ". No further information in Baird (1860) .
Indian records. General record— Baird (1860); Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003);
Remarks. Species inquirenda.
