Cystoseira barbata f. hoppei (C.Agardh) Woronichin (1908: 117) nom inval.

Note: J.G.Agardh suggested to consider C. hoppei C.Agardh (1820: 59, as ‘Hoppii’) as infraspecific taxon of C. barbata : C. barbata var. hoppei (C.Agardh) J.Agardh (1842: 51) . In his original work Woronichin (1908), quoting J.G.Agardh, erroneously referred to this taxon as “forma” and used the combination “ C. barbata f. hoppii J. Ag. ”. This combination was lately incorrectly cited as C. barbata f. hoppei (C.Agardh) Woronichin. Considering that Woronichin actually never suggested such combination in his work under his authorship, the combination C. barbata f. hoppei (C.Agardh) Woronichin should be considered as nom. inval.
