Diagnosis. Wingspan ♂ 28–30 mm, ♀ 31–35 mm. This species shows extreme sexual dimorphism. C. costifimbria differs from congeners by having the male forewing with transverse broad orange bands, disrupted by a long and conspicuous fringe of scales extending back from costa; forewing of females with mostly straight postmedial dark edge angled obtusely towards apex at costal end; antemedial dark edge meeting dorsum at acute angle; in male genitalia, valvae bean-shaped, with one small spur on center of each valva; saccular process tapered, and curved to acute apex, almost same length with valvae; vesica with scobination and two groups of longer spines; in female genitalia, corpus bursae globular, with large irregular signum near cervix of bursae, and one long line-shaped signum at center of bursae.
